2 iconic destinations in 1 day. Fast catamaran to Green Island for a 2-hour coral cay stopover, then out to Great Adventures’ Moore Reef platform for 3 hours on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel gear, semi-sub, underwater observatory and buffet lunch all included.
The complete reef and island experience awaits with this exciting tour. Take a fast 45-minute catamaran ride to beautiful Green Island and enjoy two hours on this unique reef and rainforest coral cay. Then, you’ll depart Green Island to continue your day of adventure and discovery with 3 hours on board Great Adventures’ spacious activity platform moored on the majestic Outer Great Barrier Reef.
Green Island
It is a beautiful 6000-year-old coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park – a premier world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Grab your snorkel gear and head to the Lifeguard patrolled beach to explore the marine world off the beach, take a stroll thru the unique tropical rainforest, laze on the white coral sand beach or take part in some of the optional activities that Green Island has to offer.
Moore Reef
The stable reef activity platform is the perfect base for swimmers and non-swimmers to explore. Snorkel, dive, visit the underwater observatory, cruise in a semi-submersible to view the surrounding coral or relax on the sundeck with a delicious buffet lunch. The vibrant marine life of the reef awaits you.
Itinerary
Green Island & Great Barrier Reef — Day Tour Itinerary
7:30am – Check in at the Great Adventures counter inside Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal to collect your boarding pass.
8:00am – Board the vessel. Complimentary tea and coffee served on boarding.
8:30am – Depart Cairns for Green Island.
9:15am – Arrive Green Island. Two hours to explore at your own pace.
Pick up included snorkel gear (fins, mask and snorkel) from the Dive Shop
Take a self-guided Eco Island Walk or cool off in the island pool
Pre-booked activities (scuba diving, Seawalker helmet diving) commence on arrival
11:20am – Re-board and head to the Outer Reef. A cake selection is served, and a reef presentation plays on the vessel monitors. Crew snorkelling demonstration also on the way out.
12:30pm – Arrive at the Outer Great Barrier Reef platform. Activities include:
Semi-submersible coral viewing tours (depart every 30 minutes)
Snorkelling directly from the platform (gear and buoyancy vests provided)
Underwater observatory open all day
Fish feeding presentation with the marine biologist
Eco Reef Talk in the underwater observatory
Pre-booked optional activities: introductory diving, Scuba-Doo, scenic helicopter flights
1:00 – 2:30pm — Hot and cold buffet lunch served. Tea and coffee available throughout. More reef time or simply relax on the sundeck.
3:30pm – Time to return to the vessel.
3:45pm -Depart for Cairns via Green Island.
Complimentary cheese and biscuits served on the return.
5:30pm – Arrive back at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal with memories of a lifetime
