Stop 1: Ellis Beach Bar & Grill – Beachfront Tropical Breakfast
Our adventure begins at the iconic Ellis Beach Bar & Grill, located right on the beachfront along the scenic Captain Cook Highway. Enjoy a relaxed tropical breakfast with ocean views as you settle into the day ahead.
Guests will enjoy a selection of gourmet breakfast sandwiches on share platters, including options such as bacon and egg brioche, smoked brisket Reuben, smoked chicken with truffle aioli, and a vegan ciabatta option.
The breakfast is accompanied by sweet nibbles including muffins and house-made toasted banana bread, along with your choice of espresso coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
Our second stop takes us to Emerald Creek Ice Creamery, a family-owned treasure nestled on 2.15 hectares along the Kennedy Highway between Mareeba and Kuranda. Their ice cream is lovingly crafted on-site using pure cream and full-cream milk, while their dairy-free sorbets are made with local Tablelands fruit, bursting with tropical flavour. Relax on the balcony or in the lush gardens as you savour a delightful tasting of unique, tropical ice creams and sorbets – a sweet treat you won’t forget!
Stop 3: Lake Barrine Teahouse Lakeside Lunch
Our next stop takes us to beautiful Lake Barrine, a stunning volcanic crater lake surrounded by World Heritage rainforest on the Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy a relaxed lakeside lunch at the historic Lake Barrine Teahouse, where you can take in peaceful rainforest views while enjoying freshly prepared local dishes. After lunch, take a stroll along the lakeshore, watch for turtles and birdlife, or simply relax and soak in the natural beauty of this unique rainforest lake.
Stop 4: Gallo Dairyland -Cheese, Chocolate & Scenic Views
As we journey through the Atherton Tablelands, admire the patchwork of avocado, blueberry, lime, passionfruit, and watermelon farms, all thriving in the region’s rich red volcanic soil. At Gallo Dairyland, indulge in a creamy cheese tasting and decadent Swiss-style chocolates, crafted with locally sourced farm-fresh milk.

Stop 5: The Humpy Nut World -Tropical Fruits & Nuts Tasting
Next, we journey through a patchwork of farmland, rolling green hills, and diverse crops to arrive at The Humpy – the ultimate spot for freshly harvested Atherton Tablelands produce straight from the growers. Here, you’ll taste a variety of seasonal fruits, hot roasted local peanuts, and macadamia nuts. Take your time to explore this quirky, treasure-filled grocery store, brimming with goodies. It’s the perfect place to pick up delicious souvenirs for the rest of your stay!
Stop 6: Mount Uncle Distillery -Award-Winning Spirits & Native Flavours
A pioneer in North Queensland’s distilling scene, Mount Uncle Distillery was the region’s first-ever distillery and has been crafting premium spirits since 2002. Named Australian Distiller of the Year in 2017, they continue to lead the way with their award-winning liqueurs and spirits, infused with native Australian botanicals.
Here, you’ll enjoy a full presentation by the expert staff, learning about the distillery’s unique processes before indulging in a guided tasting of their incredible spirits. Stop 7: Private Rainforest Retreat -Tropical Fruit Wine Tasting
Travel across the savannah Outback, passing giant termite mounds and red earth landscapes before arriving at a peaceful 160-acre rainforest sanctuary. This hidden retreat is home to native birdlife, grazing kangaroos and the elusive platypus. Make your way to the Platypus Hut, set beside a clear mountain stream.
