Start your day at a secret Mossman River location with our one-of-a-kind ‘River Drift’ tour.
Beginning with an interpretive river walk, where the shallow or dry riverbed serves as your path upstream, completely enveloped by the rainforest. This unique journey allows you to explore the river’s course on foot, surrounded by rainforest, before transitioning to a different section of the river for the next phase of your adventure. Here, equipped with river sleds, you’ll experience the varied pace of the river’s flow. Glide through calm waters under a lush canopy, then feel the exhilaration of navigating faster currents.
After a well-deserved lunch, you’ll participate in a traditional Kuku Yalanji smoking ceremony at Mossman Gorge. This cultural experience includes a cleansing of bad spirits and the application of traditional rainforest body paint.
Your adventure continues with an easy paced 1.5-hour interpretive walk in the Daintree National Park. This journey provides a deeper understanding of the breathtaking rainforest, its ecology, and cultural significance

The Mossman Gorge walk is graded moderate to easy
The trail includes a mix of boardwalks and natural paths, with some steps and small obstacles along the way. While generally accessible, there are sections that require a bit more effort.
Total distance is about 3km, and we typically spend around 1.5 hours completing the circuit at a leisurely pace. This allows plenty of time for rest stops and to appreciate the surroundings.
The water temperature varies between 16-22C (60-71F) year round. We provide an extra thermal layer during the cooler months.
Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared for some uneven terrain.
What to bring
Wear swimmers or board shorts. Bikinis or traditional bathers are not
recommended unless wearing underneath a wetsuit.
Towel
We recommend guests wear their swimwear at pickup, as there are no change rooms
available at the river.
Guests that require glasses should wear contact lenses.
Any personal medication
Please leave all valuables and loose fitting jewellery (rings) at your accommodation
