Daintree & Cooktown Tours
Cooktown is close to my heart as I owned and operated Adventure North Australia, Cooktown 4WD Adventures for 15 years, and sold the company in May 2019. Cooktown is a unique, off the tourist beaten-track destination and well worth the visit.

We are unable to provide our customers access to the Daintree Ferry and Cape Tribulation (due to current road closures and repairs). Our customers will still get to enjoy the Daintree Rainforest, Daintree River Cruise and we have now included time in the Daintree Village.Due to the recent impact from Tropical Cyclone Jasper and the flooding associated across the region. We have had to modify our Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mossman Gorge Tour. We therefore have amended our tour to include visiting the Daintree Village and an extended time in Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre including time for a swim at Mossman Gorge (weather permitting)
This premium full-day tour includes the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, and Port Douglas. Don’t forget to bring your swimming gear……..One amazing day in our very own, natural paradise.
This full-day tour for those being picked up in Cairns and the beaches begins with a trip along the scenic coastal Great Barrier Reef Drive to Port Douglas. The road hugs the mountain side, and we stop at Rex Lookout to enjoy stunning views of the Coral Sea. From here, we continue to Port Douglas, picking up any extra guests and stopping at Flagstaff Hill, which overlooks the famous 4 Mile Beach.
The next stop is Mossman Gorge, where we refresh with local tea, coffee or a cold drink, before exploring this secluded gorge and rainforest paradise. The cool, clear waters of Mossman River tumble through and over giant granite boulders. We’ll take a guided walk, and you have the opportunity for a swim, should you wish to do so.
We then continue north to the Daintree Tea House and enjoy a quality restaurant lunch, with a choice of meals available, before stepping aboard a solar-powered electric boat to take a 1-hour cruise on the Daintree River. Keep your eyes peeled for crocodiles and other local wildlife.
Not accessible until further notice
Driving on to the Daintree River Cable Crossing, it’s a short ride over and into the ancient Daintree Rainforest. Alexandra Lookout provides panoramic views over the Daintree River and out to the Coral Sea. We then wander beneath the ancient rainforest trees on a guided botanical walk, learning more about the biodiversity of the amazing ecosystem.
Cape Tribulation not accessible until further notice
Cape Tribulation is where the rainforest meets the reef, and you can take it all in from the Kulki Lookout. This is the most northern point of our day tour adventure, so from here, we begin the journey home, but not before a quick stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company, where you can purchase locally made tropical ice cream (at your own expense)
